  • 12 oz (340g) linguine or spaghetti
  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 tablespoons (60g) unsalted butter, divided
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ½ cup (120ml) dry white wine
  • Juice of 1 lemon (about 3 tablespoons)
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • ¼ cup (25g) freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. 1

Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.

  2. 2

Season the shrimp with salt and pepper.

  3. 3

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons butter and olive oil over medium-high heat. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.

Reduce heat to medium. Add the remaining butter, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

  5. 5

Pour in the white wine and lemon juice. Let simmer for 2-3 minutes, scraping up any bits from the pan.

Chef's Tips

  • Prep all ingredients before you start cooking for a smoother experience.
  • Taste as you go and adjust seasoning to your preference.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan—cook in batches if needed for best results.
  • Let meat rest after cooking to keep it juicy and tender.

Storage & Reheating

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. To reheat, use a microwave at 50% power or warm in a covered pan over medium-low heat until heated through. For best texture, avoid reheating more than once.
